The IIAC

The Indian Institute of Art and Culture

This website was launched on Oct 3, 2005. The original name was 'The Indian Institute of Art and Culture'. The website was www.theiiac.com . Over the years the website has gone through many changes. Now the new name  is www.taraanamusic.com. I  intend to keep this original page uploaded in its original form at all times. This page will help me stay grounded and  keep in touch with my thoughts and the inner feelings of the debut day.

For years I have been longing and searching for an avenue where I can feel free to be passionate about my interests, hopes and dreams and then share them with others! I am a dreamer, or should I say a hopeless one! All my life, my dreams have been my favorite places to visit, and my soft places to fall! Very often I find myself drifting away from what is now to what it can be...!  Now is the time to turn my dreams in to reality...one step at a time and one at a time!

In Bengali tradition, today is 'Mahalaya', the first day of 'Devi Pakshya'. Today is also the first day of 'Navaraatri'. We got up when it was still dark outside and listened to the nostalgic 'Mahishasur-mardini' cassette! While listening to it, I visited all the places I wanted to visit, my childhood home, my childhood town, the people I knew. I almost could hear the sound of dawn and feel the October chill in the air...back home!  Many memories of my growing up kept coming to the surface over and over again!

IIAC has taken birth on this auspicious day.  It is just a few hours old now! I hope IIAC will grow and become a strong, compassionate and creative platform for me and  for many others who wants to share their views, thoughts and inner-callings.

One of my dreams has come true today!
